I imagine that no dynamic test are made before wrapping roller guides in a heavy (80 or 130 lb) trolling line. The question is regarding static test (line not to touch the balnk under load).
How do you temporarily fix the roller guides to move them if necessary?. I have not tested it yet, but guide tubing seems to be not enough and maybe a large ammount of masking tape would be necessary... Re: Static test for heavy trolling rods

The key is to take the pressure off the guides. This is ideal for all rods undergoing static stress distribution testing.
Mount the tip-top in your usual fashion. Tie the line that will carry the load for flexing the rod to the tip-top. Apply and fix the load so that the rod is flexed to whatever degree you require. Now run another line from the reel through the guides and out the tip-top. Attach just enough weight to this line that you are able to keep the line taut. Adjust guides as neccessary. This set-up does two things: 1. Allows the blank to take on it's natural flex independent of guide placement and, 2. Allows you to easily move and adjust the guides since no load is being placed upon them. .............. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
