You might check the rod builder directory page here and see if there are any other rod builders in your local area that might be willing to help you get started. Or come to the National rod building show in NC next month, take the class, and then see all the tons of products and other seminars. It would give you several years jump start on your rod building career!!

I think Buzz Butters hosts or puts together gatherings in that area. Find his name in teh Search feature & shoot him an e-mail. He may be from Wisconsin though, but to me, Wisconsin, St. Louis, Minnesota - all teh same, lol.

Jim,

If you are looking for some beginner type of stuff, check the local community colleges or any other adult education programs in the area. Quite often someone will be putting on something of that nature. Heck we even have it every now and then up here on Da Range(Chisholm) : -) (ya gotta be from the Minnesota to understand the Da Range or even De Ranged).
