I am building the 7' 6" 4 wt Forecast blank and would like some recommendations for thread colors. This blank is sort of blue and green depending on the lighting.
Thanks! Re: Thread Color Recommendations for Forecast fly blank

I've used garnet without cp on two of them. You might want to try Rice burgundy metallic, also looks good. Re: Thread Color Recommendations for Forecast fly blank

Hi Joe,
I'm building one now and am using Pac Bay # Y100A-EM. If you look at the blank in bright light, it has a turquoise tint to it. This thread is a dark greenish turquoise color especially if you use cp with it. I'm finishing it off with silver metalic trim rings and all chrome guides and reel seat. A little feather inlay and it will be lookin' good! Re: Thread Color Recommendations for Forecast fly blank

are you using the older forecast "blue" blanks or the latest forecast blue blank? the former is more of a blue-green or teal color. i wrapped one of the older blue-green/teal colored ones with gudebrod Blue Dun thread and without CP, it darkened to match perfectly if that's what you might be looking for. i included silver as trim wraps. looked nice. subdued.
one thing i experimented with last night was wrappping a pac bay rainforest green blank with a base layer of metallic green, a nice medium to bright shade, then over that wrapped Medium Green. without CP, and after finishing, the underlying metallic showed through a bit and the green of the metallic complimented nicely. since it was only a test wrap, LATE at night, i was a bit sloppy with the over wrap and the underlying metallic green showed through in the gaps. i had wrapped the underlayer nicely. i really liked it. you might want to try experimenting with something similar, but in blue tones. eric fresno, ca.
