Hey All,
does anyone know how Rvanenckevort mad those forgrips on the photo page? I know it says gasket material but did he cut out all those in rings??? Seems like a lot of work unless there is a thicker gasket material out there that I am not aware of.... Just curious! They look really nice. Tom Re: Gasket Handle by Rvanenckevort???

You can stack the rings or squares to get the thickness you want. Bob Meiser wrote an article on this method in a past issue of RodMaker.

Tom,
The handle assembly's you see are the base for leather fore grips. The gasket cork is not rings. I buy the cork in a sheet ( 3mm thick usually.) Then I cut it into 32mm wide strips and wind it down the blank. Glue on first then wind it down to hold it in place. Then put another on top until you have the thickness you require. Once dry, shape it and it's ready for the leather. Now I think about it, I should have posted some shots showing it in progress . Will do that next lot I do. Email me if you require some more info! Regards, Ross. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
