Base coat marblizing

After reading the article on marblizing, I was wondering if you can add more than 1 color such as the gold metallic of the testors paint for the base coat to get the desired color or could you have problem if you add to much?

Thanks jr

If I understand you right, you want two colors for your base color?? Do you mean one on one end of the butt wrap and one on the other end?? You could certainly try this; I haven't yet.

If you're speaking of mixing two colors to get another color, I'd suggest to mix the pigments separately and then add the color that you made out of the two into the epoxy finish and marble with that.

Mixing two pigment colors into one mix of epoxy (to get a third color) winds up problematic. Usually winds up with too much pigment/paint in the epoxy and it doesn't like to harden then.

I recently did a pink marble. I mixed red and white Testor's pigments until I got the right color pink and then added that to an epoxy mix.
