Hi All I'm in the process of ordering guides for 3 fly rods and was wondering if the following seems correct.
1.9' #6 16, 12 double foot , 10,8,8 then 7's I'll use a Rio windcutter multi-tip so I think I'll need the larger 7's. I also have a 10' #6 that I will use the same set-up on. 2. 9' #8 20,26,12 double foot, 10,10, then 8's tp the tip. again I'll use a multi tip line so I think I need the larger sizes at the tip. 3 9' #10 I think the same as for the #8 above but no a multi tip, I just think I need the 8's a the tip Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Gary Re: Ceramics for fly rods

I don't think you'll ever seen any real difference by going to a stripper guide larger than a #16. Use the SVSG spinning type to get a little more height if you want.
#6's are plenty large enough for running guides unless you need to bring knots or shock leaders in through them. Skip the guides in the middle if you want - 16 • 12 and then 7's (if that's what you settle on). Same on the larger rod - 16 • 12 • and then 8's. It won't hurt to put a 10 in there if you just think it looks better, but just use one. ....... Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
