I purchased some of the braids / two tone threads available for a project I am working on. The thread is wider / flater than traditional threads. I am looking to get some hints on the nest way to incorporate these types of threads into a wrap. For instance I am thinking I want a single band to finish a wrap. It is not clear to me how to tie off the tag ends and keep it aligned and neat.
Thanks in advance for the assistance. Mark Re: HT Braid / Trimar / Two Tone Thread

Mark, for Trimar and two-tone thread, use them as normal. For HT braid, that is normally used on buttwraps. I'm not sure you can do a single band of it and make it look good without say, superglue and flush trimming with a razor.
You'll be better off just making trim bands with thread to the width you want than trying to use the braid. Much easier and the result will be far better looking. Even if you try doing a nail knot with the braid, it's going to be very clumpy looking. Re: HT Braid / Trimar / Two Tone Thread

I agree with Dundee; the braided material for use as a trim band on a guide wrap would be near impossible. I use it as underwrapping for buttwraps and for diamond wraps.
I'd just use threads for the trim bands, too. Putter Re: HT Braid / Trimar / Two Tone Thread

Mark
You can also use the HT braid or some of the holographic brands which are flat, in the middle of your underwraps to add a high light. I recently used some of this and posted on the photo board. It looks great if not over done. I agree with Putter and Mick that it would be extremely difficult to used as a outside trim on a guide wrap. Regards Mark Re: HT Braid / Trimar / Two Tone Thread

Thanks everyone. Actually what I had in mind was a single or double band somewhere in the middle of a trim wrap to add a highlight. I saw an example of it on the cover of the most recent RodMaker Magazine. Vol 7 Issue 6. Its a picture of a gaff designed and built by Jim Kastorff. It really adds a nice touch. Its just not clear to me how the tag ends were tied off given the width and size of the thread.
