I need help on two points.

I have been asked to build a 8 ft Heavy with a Fast tip and ideas on which blank would be best.

Second he want to be able to but weight in the butt to balance the rod after he get his reel on. I did this one time year ago but can't remember how and where I got the butt ends any ideas.

Thanks.

Unless you must have a collapsible model, don't overlook the many fast tape light to medium saltwater and striper type blanks. They work well as long, heavy power bass flipping sticks.

As for adding weight in the butt for balance I have found an easy way. I slip a steel drill bit of the proper weight directly into the butt of the blank securing it well with Rod Bond. I use very cheap bits so cost is not an issue. The results have been excellent.
