I am in the process of building my first ice fishing rod. I have a fly rod tip section for the blank, cork for the handle, but not sure what kind of guides would be appropiate to use for ice fishing. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks Mike Re: ice fishing rod

Mike,
You'de want to use ceramic ring single foot spinning guides. The size and number depend on the length and power rating of your blank. Rich Garbowski Richard's Rod & Reel info@rodreel.com Re: ice fishing rod

If you are planning to do much ice fishing outside(not in ice house) you will probably want to use guides and tip top with a larger than normal ring size(ruduces how often you will need to suck the ice out your guides). In an ice house you can use what you normally would.
