What the flock?

I did a search on this website and even on Google and I can't seem to find pictures of flocked grips. I am really curious what they look like. Can you help me?
Thanks!

Scott

Volume 7 #4 RodMaker shows them and how to make them. Outside of that, you won't likely find any photos. They're not very common, although they are perhaps the cadillac of rod grips. Small nylon fibers are adhered to cork, wood or firm EVA grips to provide a non-slip surface that wears like iron. Various colors are available.

Tom,

How do you seal the EVA grips before you apply the adhesive? My subscription to Rodmaker did not start until Vol. 5. Look foward to meeting you in Charlotte.

I use color preserver, although you can use cork seal just as well. This is a very important step - if you don't seal the cork first, the adhesive will soak in and leave a surface film that is too thin to adequately hold the fibers for very long.
