Broke tip section on Sage SP

I broke two inches off of the tip section on my Sage SP 590-3. I was wondering if I can replace a new tip top on the end or should I send the piece to Sage and have them replace the tip section. If it would not hurt the action then I would not care. Any thoughts?
Thanks, John

I suggest you send it to Sage for replacement to keep integrity of the original rod. You probably would not notice much difference in the action however. You could also give Sage a call regarding future warranty service if you decide to just replace tip, they would probably take care of future problems if they occur.

2 inches is not much, but I'm betting you can tell the difference when you fish the rod. Slide a top on and tape it in place and go out and cast it some. If you can live with it, set the top in place. Otherwise, send it back to Sage and buy a replacement tip.
