Tsunami Relief Donations

As a sponsor and business we get approached to donate for the Tsunami Relief effort now. We understand that there is genuine conern and effort in various ways that people wish to collect for the cause.

It's not my wish to use the forum here to solicit, and as Tom and most who visit this board would wish that the board remain for the purpose it's intended as a gathering site for custom rod builders. I think that the purpose is well served and people can do their own personal sacrifice to aid the cause of their choice.

Having said that, I'll accept that it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for this particular disaster cause, because it's such a wide scale human disaster that I feel need to respond to. The Way I'm able to do it is to donate on the basis of what my customers are willing to order and a percentage of that order is what I can donate to the Red Cross or OxFam cause to help the Tsunami relief effort over the short term. Basically a retail order I should be able to donate 10% of that order and for any established wholesale customers will donate 5% of the total order. This is basically a dealing of trust and I believe anything helps to support that cause.

Anyone who independntly also wishes to donate on their own, please do so through and to your selected charity, Red Cross, etc.

Thank You,

Rich Garbowski

Rich, this hit pretty close to my family, my inlaws disappeared for two days, finally turning up in Bangkok, they had left the day before the tidal surge which destroyed their hotel. We were very lucky and it looks like the death toll will go well over 100,000 so there are many not so fortunate as my family. We should remember and try to help these poor people as they helped the allies in world war 2 without any questions they just did it, now its our turn to help. Good to see Richard's Rod & Reel getting behind them.

CNN Has a site with links to a lot of organizations that are working on relief. Most you can use a credit card to donate. Check it out:
