well, finally ready to begin wraps. will underwrap with gudebrod metalic and overwrap with ncp. will i need to use any cp on the underwrap?

Not to hold the color but you may find it easier to make the overwrap if you do use the CP.

you also will find cp seals the thread so air bubbles will not show up John T Burford aka Tightline Rod's

Chuck,

William is right you don't need CP. But I use a different method. I do my my underwraps , seal with CP, then put a coat of epoxy on them. Then I wrap the guides on and CP them, then epoxy over everything. I use underwraps on saltwater rods only, so the extra weight doesn't hurt and it is alot easier to wrap over. The reason for doing it this way is not for easy wraping though, that's just a bonus. I want to make sure the thread is well sealed against saltwater.
