well, everything is coming together now...
however, i've got a question for the fly rod building pros on this forum. i've got an 8'6" Rainshadow blank fly weight 6 RXF866 8'6" 2 6 4.5 .365 upon this i shall mount a Tioga #8 LA magnum i've elected to use fuji tsg single foot guides. based on a St. Croix guide spacing chart i've come up with this arrangement/sizes of guides. specifically sizes: 12 – 10 – 8 – 6-6-6-6-6-6 and the tiptop is a 7mm they don't make them any smaller. see here [www.shofftackle.com] does this sound about right for the setup i'm building? i've transitioned from 12 to 10 to 8... yet i might be able to go directly from 12 to an 8? i really don't know having never build a fly rod before. thanks for any input and this excellent list. mforrest Re: final guide choice for fly blank...

I like your choice of blanks!
As for the guides I would buy enough so that I could test it out both ways, then decide which set up to use after seeing/using it both ways. Getting it right is worth the extra expense. Kevin Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
