Just wondered how any of you make the lower handle on a 2 handed rod.I find I have to make it off the rod and then glue it on afterwards. I'm talking about a 5 to 7" handle and not the 1 to 2" fighting butts. My greatest difficulty is getting the piece of eva foam or rubber composite cork on at the end and to try and sand this down afterwards.
Anyone any better ways of doing this ? Thanks in advance, Glen. Re: lower handle grips.

I make it off the rod also, on a mandrel, then ream to fit. I use a rubberized cork butt piece, but glue that section to the rest of the handle right at the beginning, before shaping and reaming. You then have a reaming hole at the bottom to be filled or capped off, but there are many effective ways to do this. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
