I just had a discussion with a guy who claims that it is close to impossible to crome stainless steel. PacBay and Seymo snakeguides are crome plated stainless steel wire according to their technical information. Question: who is right and who i wrong ? Thanks Peter Re: Stainless steel and crome

We have been chrome plating stainless steel for many years, and have supplied millions of snake and single foot fly rod guides to the fishing rod industry. The industrial hard chrome adds an extra hardness factor. If the stainless is not chromed, it will groove in a short period of time.
