two piece rod lenght

iam talking about 5' to 6' spinning blanks
what is the purpose of the two pieces being different lenghts why cant they be the same length ?. ive seen several rods that are either the same lenght, and the tip section that are longer, from 1" to 9" is there a purpose for this btw i registered a couple of days ago went to log in tonight and it didnt take my password i clicked on forgot my pass word entered my e-mail address wich was different than when i registered be cause i was at work i used my work e-mail address ( shouldnt make a difference )got a new password sent Re: two piece rod lenght

Some rods have offset ferrules to allow the ferrule itself to be set back down on the more powerful and stronger butt section. But this sort of thing is usually found only on heavier and more powerful, and longer, multi-piece rods intended for surf type fishing.
Slight differences such as what you mention can be frustrating and really don't make much sense. But there is little you can do about it. .............. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
