Off Topic - Anybody fish Little Cayman?

I'm being offered a trip and was wondering what I could stalk while I'm down there. What tackle should I take? Does anybody have experience with what the airlines will let you take?

You can fish for tailing bonefish on the many "ocean-side" flats that ring the island, or learn to spot the fish as they cruise the deeper edges.

Hooked a few and landed a few but those that spooked were large singles.

Omitted this info for you. Take 7 8 & 9 wt WF or bonefish tapers and bring your wading shoes. You can fly out to little cayman from georgetown on cayman air Tip - tie some charlies with yellow hair or yellow krystal flash - the bones there like juvenille yellowtail fry. Try bonefish biters to - lots of small urchins - ala wading shoes.
Regards,
Kenneth Prager

Fished there on my honeymoon 7 years ago (and talk about coincidence, today's our anniversary). Was a guided trip (out of the Southern Cross resort). Fished from a skiff on flats inside reef. We used light-weight spinning rods. Guide looked for "muddy" water where bones were feeding. We eased up and he "chummed" with small minnows (looked like siversides). Then light lined minnow on small single hook. Was DEADLY for bones. Caught several. Also caught several good sized jacks. But be careful where/how you release your catch. Big (and) fast cuda's liked to hang under boat and make a quick snack out of releases (and your hand, if not careful).

At later time was able to wade fish on my own and hook a couple of smaller cuda's (but cut off before landed). And tried to stalk some bones tailing in the turtle grass with my fly rod but talk about a nervous fish!! Also, there are some "land locked" tarpon in a brackish lake on island. Tried both spinning and fly rods there with no takers.

Was a GREAT trip - besides the fishing, diving and scenery were OUTSTANDING!!!

At the time, I took a spin and fly rod as carry on. But a lot of things have changed since then (9/11).
