Thought on new site

Was a bit shocked when I peeked in this afternoon and saw the new format for this site. But I won't be too quick to say I don't like it. It's different but there are some new features that are nice. Another thing is that rodbuilding.org has always set the new trends in rod building message board sites so this is just another first. I'll bet others will be quick to follow with similar new "looks" as they see how this one works.

Also the people and information are not new. They're just as good as they always were. This is one place where you can make suggestions or even offer criticism and not get showered with vulgar e-mails and comments. Not all rod building sites are like that, trust me.

So I will offer this comment or suggestion, add me to the list of people that would to be able to toggle back and forth between threaded and flat views without having to register. Just a suggestion. Not a demand.

Probably might be a good idea if we just hold onto our suggestions for a few days. As I think Tom hasn't slept for at least 24hrs. Himself, Ian and Wendy are flat out like a lizard drinking behind the scenes fixing the gremlins etc and fixing up my stupid mistakes.
I had my problem attended to virtually straight away, thanks again guys.

Its kind of like trying out a new two-part finish!!!!

Its very clear, has great leveling properties, the set up time is excellent, and after pummelling it with my "UV ray gun", its crystal clear with no bubbles or guide foot cracks.

Its just really hard to change from something I'm used to!!(the more yellowing stuff) Its also, Kind of like wrapping left handed.

Its still free for you and me.

Hehe.. well, I don't about Tom, but yeah.. Wendy and I have been pretty busy working things out here. But it's been fun for us too :)

Thank YOU, Myles! We depend upon folks like you taking the time to tell us where you are finding gremlins in order to fix them. I can't promise we'll fix all of them, but we'll do our best.

And now we have a few other boards to upgrade soon too.. *sigh*.

I do think a lot of gremlins are mostly the "I'm not used to this" kind of thing, and perhaps after a few days, those issues won't appear so "gremlinish." At the same time, I do know we still have some tweaking to do.

Keep on talkin' 'bout rodbuilding! I used to be a rodbuilder myself and miss the hobby.
