In the course of assembling a reel seat I got a little Rod Bond on the wood insert, impregnated walnut from REC. I wiped it off with iso alcohol, but where the alcohol touched the wood the finish is now faded or duller. What's the best way to get the wood back to its original look?

If you're very lucky, you can apply some paste wax and then buff the entire insert back up to a nice gloss.
In fact, if the wood was indeed an imprenated article, you can probably just buff it right back up without any wax - just use a soft cloth or a loose buffing wheel and you should be fine. ........ Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
