20 foot surf rod ?

A man came into the shop where i work yesterday. he would like for me to build him a 20 foot 4 section surf rod each section being 5 feet. [ i really did not know what to say ] i told him i have never built such a rod but would check about it.a few questions' can this be done and still be a well working rod. has anyone done this . can you buy a 20 foot blank. sounds strange to me thought i would ask. thank you for your help. I had a person email me from India with a similar inquiry. He even sent me photos of some VERY long rods in use & lying on a bulkhead. I couldn't help him. Re: 20 foot surf rod ?

I have heard of 19ft ones around the traps in OZ will look into it for you. Don't hold your breath though.

I was recently with a bunch of guys here in NJ at a test casting event, and one of the guys had a Daiwa blank from Japan that was 15 feet long, and light as a feather. He got it at the Red Drum I believe on the Outer Banks of NC. You may want to check with them to see if they have any more. It's not 20 feet, but it's close. Re: 20 foot surf rod ?
