Hello, I have a lot of brown fiberglass blanks that I got from a fellow in Az. Most are marked "REED " with a number like: No.5RF and then "Made in Australia". Others just say: "Reed Manufacturing. Made in Australia" Does anyone have any infor on these blanks?? Is the company still in business? Etc... Thanks in advance, Art mrparramoure@yahoo.com Re: Help with blank manufacturer

Hey Art, The name rings a bell, I think it was bought out by one of the other Australian blank manufacturers a couple of decades ago. Not many of them left now. Someone with more experience than me will anwser you question. Myles Brisbane, Australia Re: Help with blank manufacturer

These blanks were sold by Reed Tackle out of NJ back in the 60's and 70's. Unfortunately, Reed went out of business back in 1986 or so. I purchased spin, fly and plug blanks from them right up until they folded. The blanks are high quality and came in two styles: brown glass that came ferruled with gold Featheweight ferrules or the newer slate grey model with Fenwick style ferrules. Both were rather heavy but had very nice tapers and were hard to beat for the money. I would be interested in what models you have as I have been looking for a couple more blanks ever since 1986. If you are interested, I could send you some more info as I have 5 or six of Reed catalogs including their last one. Let me know. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
