Ralph O'Quinn has written an article in Rodmaker about 2 years ago that showed how to fix such breaks good as new. You can do it yourself or have someone do it, although it doesn't seem like many have the skills to fix these breaks. I sure don't. I think St. Croix has a pretty good warranty and for something like $10 you can get a replacement. This might only be on fly rods though. I'm not sure. There is a site at www.tackleworks.org that lists rod builders and repair people across the country. You can look and see if there is anyone in your area. Ralph does some repair work I guess and he is listed in the Washington portion of the directory. Re: broken rod

i slammed the truck door on my cabelas fly rod and broke it in the middle of tip section. i used a fiberglass section on the inside and a fiberglass section on the outside and then wrapped it with thread and flexcoat. i fished it today and it cast just fine. hope this helps.
