Graphite rod repair

Have plug installed.What is the best way to prepare the ends of the sheath as far as design and technique to accomodate the thread in the neatest way.Thanks as always. Re: Graphite rod repair

Charlie, I use either a pad sander or a dremmel sanding wheel. I hold the tool between my knees with the sanding portion facing up. Then hold the fiberglass sleeve at a 20 degree angle to the face of the sander and start rotating it (the sleeve) between your fingers as it touches the sander. If you use very light pressure, you can make the edge as fine as you want. A belt sander would be easier as you wouldn't have to hold anything with your knees.
