bronze or brass source

I've had a request for bronze or brass inlays in my grips. Is there anyone out there who can give me a source for these metals in sheets? I'm thinking 1 1/2" wide by 1/16" or 1/18" thick. I would also like a source for silver, the real stuff, if anyone has it.

Thanks

Ray, try your hobby shop for the brass/bronze the train modelers use it. For the silver try a jewellers supplies, for sterling silver 925 you will be suprised how cheap it is.

I would suggest finding a knife making supplier/shop.

Ray,

This is where I usually get my metal. They are decent people and helpful.

I think we gabbed about this before but keep in mind that the metal doesn't move with moisture. I'd keep it away from a place where the hand will spend a lot of time and do sanding and buffing over several days with different humidity to round the inlay edges for a smoother feel when the wood does move.

Nice to see you in print too.

Scott
