Snake skin?

Anyone ever inlay snake skin on a rod?

There was a company out of Oklahoma...Cameron Rods that used to put snakeskin on the butt section where a diamond wrap would usually go. It looked really unique. I saw that back in '95 or '96, and it may have very well been done before that.

I tried to do somethig with it.. Couldn't get it to work, but I still have some skin left.

What may be nice too is, using salmon skin.
A company in Ireland are producing these.
Some fabulous colors and apparently it's as tough

A friend of mine has one. It has a snake skin 'diamond wrap' and then the reel seat insert was skinned too. Looks pretty sharp.

I like snakes, most people don't. Some are protected, Timber Rattle snakes in TX are. What I have learned from talking about hatbands is the paterns on the young snakes is smaller and more conducive to crafts.
