G'day Guys, Whilst perusing Mudhole's online catalogue, i have noticed that the various electric motors employed for drying rotisserie purposes have Revolution ranges from 9rpm to 30rpm. Can any one explain to me the differance between them, obviously some spin faster than the other, is there specific uses for the differant speeds?. I was considering using the 18 rpm motor, is that too quick? Regards Geoff Roberts Re: Drying Motor RPM's?

The 18 RPM is fine. If they turn too fast, the finish tends to sling down the legs of the guide. 18 is fine. I made one years ago and finally timed it this summer; it's 2 RPM. Putter Re: Drying Motor RPM's?

Hay Putter, at that speed, doesn't your finish fall to the floor? LOL Re: Drying Motor RPM's?

I have you beat Putter!! I have one made from an OLD rotisserie motor for a gas grill, 1, yes, 1 rpm!!!! I have a couple different speeds from over the years and I really find that the 18 rpm seems to work the best with all the different products I've tried or experimented with. Too fast is just as bad as too slow. You won't get good results either way. Putter, add a little pigment, and you can change the look every so often without laying a new floor! Oh no, just don't marblize it !!! lol Ray Re: Drying Motor RPM's?

My two drying motors are 16 & 18 rpm. This speed works best for me. Ralph Re: Drying Motor RPM's?

I think the lamp brackets in the rod room are enough for the marbeling, too, Ray!!! The Brits are still nervous, tho... Putter Re: Drying Motor RPM's?

I also have a 1 rpm one. I have 2 that go 6 rpm and only use the 1 rpm when I need all 3. It drives me nuts, it goes so slow. John Butterfield Re: Drying Motor RPM's?
