I'll look it back up, but I dont think they cost that much! I saw some in a catalog, I dont think thay are real rubies. If you are serious about the price, Im going to have some real problems justifying this with my wife. Has anyone used horn, like Ibex for a foregrip material? I was wondering if it would absorb waer and split.

I've only seen one set, at the Japanese fishing show in Tokyo. They were Fuji Ruby guides, and were extremely expensive, like 80-200 per guide or something.

Levi,
They are spendy, the Agate guides are almost $40 a piece. Get with Les at Insert by Les, he uses horn on reelseats, he should be able to help. Link to the left.

Merrick Tackle carries Fuji ruby guides. A set for a small rod is going to set you back between 600.00 and 1,000.00. I have not used them for that very reason.

Spend that much on guides and you better lock that rod in a safe!!!
