Is anyone manufacturing 2-pc. spinning or casting blanks with unequal length segments? I have a factory-built Garcia Mitchell Conolon 5 Star 5 1/2 ft. fiberglass spinning rod, circa 1970, with a butt section around 2 ft. long and a tip section about 3 1/2 ft. long. It fits in my car trunk and it has the advantage (in my opinion -- anyone disagree?) of having all the guides on the tip section. I'd like to know if this kind of blank is being sold now. I'm not interested in any particular size -- just curious whether they're available. Thanks, Eric Lee Re: Asymmetric 2-pc. rods

Many surf blanks are made that way. I believe a few longer salmon/steelhead blanks may also be made that way. .......... Re: Asymmetric 2-pc. rods

All Star-Breakaway, G. Loomis, GUSA and Seeker all make surf rods with short butts and long tips. Makes more sense in my opinion. Re: Asymmetric 2-pc. rods
