Am about to start to embellish a rod that is to have both a weave and a butt wrap at the handle end of rod . Hook keeper to go first- then weave and butt wrap next. My question is which should I start with. I weave with a Wonder Weaver so I am concerned that which ever one I start with I could damage the other. I need some input guys! Your help is appreciated!!! Thank you! Re: weave and butt wrap which one first?

I prefer to put the weave in the center of the buttwrap, check out photo page for examples. I used to do the weave first then the buttwrap and visa versa but I don't like the transition tween the two so I now put the weave on top of the wrap. Either way a thin coat of rod finish on top the the one done first will protect it until you do the second item whichever you decide it to be. If you do one after the other it could be difficult to protect the first one without finish on it. Re: weave and butt wrap which one first?

I've seen your wraps in Rodmaker and always wondered which came first, the chicken or the egg. Or in your case, the crosswrap or the weave. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
