Collector/stripper/additional guide... after the test.

Hello all and thanks for all the answers I received from a previous post.
Well, I test, test and test the three rods I have 9'9wt, same blank, only the number of guides and spacing changed= gain of time.
For the three rods, the removal of one SF ringed snake guide #8 (I put 1 Alconite 20 mm, one 16 mm plus 1 SF alconite #10 and 6 or 7 Alconite #8, tip top is #8) didn t help. I prefer to keep the number of 11 guides (the blank is so stiff that it didn t change the feeling of the rod: I know the action is the same whatever you put on the blank. I have learn that with you guys ;-))

Considering now the collector guide, it did help. I don t think that I am a good caster but I normally cast in the 80-90 feet range without any problems (with an Orvis wonderline bonefish 9wt).
With the additional stripper I casted the whole line. So, for me it worked great. Maybe in the future I will need to remove it as I hope I will improve again my casting. But for now, this is more than sufficient to fly fish the Keys every week end.
Thanks again guys.
Serge
