I've got my hands on a St Croix SV4 blank – 9’ #4 4pc – model number 4F904.4. I am wondering if anyone can advise on the correct guide spacing.

Thanks

Gordon Wilson

Gordon, here you will find the info you need: [www.stcroixrods.com]

4F904.4 TROUT U904.4 9'0" 4 FAST 4WT. 0.335 4.0

They recommend guides sizes: 12-10-4-4-4-4-3-3-3-3-3 sm.kpr with a tip of 4.0 ... the guides are light single foot.

There is a wealth of info on the St. Croix site

Gordon,
Once you gotten the guides on you are not done, if you want the best rod it can be, until you've done a static distribution test. An article on this test is in the above library section.
