I have built two spinning and recently completed a spiral. I am please with performance. I am using the same total numbers of guide as per Fuiji's recommendation but built according to reel and blank. My static distribution is good. I noticed during the back cast (actually bent back at 90 deg.) the line touches the blank where fly guides are. I suspect that it has negible impact on the performance as it occurs only once during the cast and not all during retreive or fighting. My question is should I eliminate this completely by adding 2-3 guides? Adding 2 more guides particularly to my 5 ft UL w/5 + tip guides wuold probablly degrade its casting performance. Thanks, James. Re: Question for Concept users

The line isn't moving on your backcast and I doubt you flex it to a full or deep 90 degrees on most casts. I'd let it alone if you like the performance you have now. ......... Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
