color preserving metallic ?

hey guys i just finished up a rod with trimar, metallic, and ncp thread. should i color preserve this ? the last butt wrap i did in metallic was really nice then when i put the color preserver it kinda dulled the color out of the metallics. thanks for any info Re: color preserving metallic ?

Michael; you do not need to use any cp on metallic thread . it will look great without it . Re: color preserving metallic ?

Try some with and without CP on a scrap blank. Just to be sure. Sounds like you are better without Re: color preserving metallic ?

Don't really know why you'd want to color preserve it. The trimar and NCP threads are already color preserved, and the metallic holds its color as well. I prefer to not use color preserver unless I absolutely have to, because I like the epoxy finish on the wraps to soak through them completely. This ensures a solid finish and results in less rewrapped guides in your future. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
