What is a good rpm to use when shaping cork and eva foam grips?I will be using a surform file and assorted grits of sandpaper.

I like about 1500 to 1800 rpm, tops. If you go too fast you generate a lot of heat which can soften EVA grips permanently.

I use my hand drill at max speed. I would guess that is somewhere between 1500 and 1800 like mentioned above. Works great on cork.

I also use a hand drill, but much slower. I will try it faster next time as it might not take as long. Maybe I learned something today. John Butterfield
