I just refinished an old inexpensive bamboo rod for a friend. Can I use epoxy on the wraps, or should I use varnish? I have some Gudebrod Rod Varnish on hand. Would that work also? Thanks in advance. Re: epoxy on bamboo wraps

Epoxy just doesn't look right on bamboo rods. Use your varnish. Re: epoxy on bamboo wraps

I have used epoxy on silk wraps on bamboo rods on occasion and everyone thinks it is varnish. It's all in how you apply it, not so much the finish type used. Since you have the Gudebrod on hand, you might go ahead and use it though. ................. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
