Is it possible to use a coat of Permagloss over fully cured Flexcoat? The flexcoat is not as hard a finish as I would have liked.Would I be better off to scuff the finish and apply a thin coat of LS supreme? Thanks Joel

Permagloss is some hot stuff. It may react no mater how lone it has dried. The LS will be safer Putter, this is another thing I should try with the new stuff? Not as hot as permagloss

Bill-
Definitely worthy of a try!! Do you think Permagloss would damage fully cured finish, though? Wasn't my original thought, tho.

My original question to Joel was to whether he needs to scuff before applying the LS.

I agree with that; under 3 days, no need to.

I don't know that Flexcoat and LS will be softer or harder than one another, though, if both are fully cured? I haven't noticed any difference in the two of them, personally, as far as hardness goes.

Another reason to ask if it's fully cured??

I built this rod in the summer of 2003.The finish is dry,not tacky. It just seems a little on the soft side.I prefer a finish that dries hard to the touch.I just thought a coat or two of Permagloss would give it a harder finish without making the overall finish much thicker.I plan on going to Jann's Netcraft this friday and thought about picking up a bottle of Permagloss.I have never used it."Happy Thanksgiving" to all the fine people on this board,Joel

On the picture board (willierods) there's a pic posted by Bill. In the comments is a link to the website.

I have never had any ill effects using PG over fully cured FC, scuff it and go to town. JD

I use pg routinely over flex coat. Never had a single problem. If it's after 3 days, I scuff it first.
