Is it possible to use a coat of Permagloss over fully cured Flexcoat? The flexcoat is not as hard a finish as I would have liked.Would I be better off to scuff the finish and apply a thin coat of LS supreme? Thanks Joel Re: Permagloss ?

Permagloss is some hot stuff. It may react no mater how lone it has dried. The LS will be safer Putter, this is another thing I should try with the new stuff? Not as hot as permagloss Re: Permagloss ?

Bill- Definitely worthy of a try!! Do you think Permagloss would damage fully cured finish, though? Wasn't my original thought, tho. My original question to Joel was to whether he needs to scuff before applying the LS. Putter Re: Permagloss ?

If the epoxy is over 3 days old? then I think you should scuff, Re: Permagloss ?

I agree with that; under 3 days, no need to. I don't know that Flexcoat and LS will be softer or harder than one another, though, if both are fully cured? I haven't noticed any difference in the two of them, personally, as far as hardness goes. Another reason to ask if it's fully cured?? Putter Re: Permagloss ?

I built this rod in the summer of 2003.The finish is dry,not tacky. It just seems a little on the soft side.I prefer a finish that dries hard to the touch.I just thought a coat or two of Permagloss would give it a harder finish without making the overall finish much thicker.I plan on going to Jann's Netcraft this friday and thought about picking up a bottle of Permagloss.I have never used it."Happy Thanksgiving" to all the fine people on this board,Joel Re: Permagloss ?

I have never had any ill effects using PG over fully cured FC, scuff it and go to town. JD Re: Permagloss ?

I use pg routinely over flex coat. Never had a single problem. If it's after 3 days, I scuff it first. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
