They are doing some interesting things in Japan, and selling them for a tremendous amount of money. [www.plat.co.jp] Re: From Japan

They look sharp. I just wonder how the spinning rods feel after 8 hours in the hand? The casting your hand is on cork. Some of you guys with the metal laths can make some up??? Re: From Japan

Does anyone know where I can get titanium reel seats? I like the looks of the reel seats that BPS uses on their high-end casting rods. Re: From Japan

I have yet to find anyone that is happy with their BPS rod. They make them cheap, but they don't make them well. Re: From Japan

That's good to know. Now if we can convince the 90 percent of people that buy them that we make a better rod Re: From Japan

I think that the professional rod builders (I'm just a hobbyist--I make them for myself and gifts for family) need to concentrate on about the top 3 percent. Tournament anglers are difficult--they usually end up with sponsors (if they are any good). And they are hard on equipment. Club guys are where the money is for custom builders. Don't worry about the 90 percent that are buying cheap rods that won't cast straight. Be entrenched in clubs so that when the die hards are ready to upgrade... Re: From Japan
