Andy Dear et al.:old post: tru-oil slurry?

folks,
I just looked for an old post in which Andy explained his slurry technique for mixing tru-oil with sanding dust and applying this mixture in coats but can't find it. Andy, if you read this post, can you repost your method?

Also, what's the best way you all have found to lastingly gloss your final tru-oil coat?
Thanks all,
markvan

Josh,
It's really easy. Apply the first coat liberally then immediately sand it (either with the lathe ON at it's slowest speed OR with the Lathe OFF by hand) while it's wet with 400 grit. After a few minutes it'll start to turn gooey, then finally harden. Let it dry for 2-4 hours. Once it is dry, sand off the dried excess paste and repeat two or three more times. The grain should now be filled and you can apply the Tru-Oil as normal to build multiple coats to a glossy depth OR add one or two more coats and then buff with 000 steel wool for a matte finish. For a Semi Gloss finish, let dry for a couple of days then use the new Lamar Buffing setup with the three compounds on your lathe. This gives sort of an inbetween semi-gloss finish.
