I'm thinking of trying my hand at making my own grips and seats. I have read post where people talk about the use of mandrels. I think I know what they are and what they do, but a little more info would be great. Also, where can you buy them. Thanks in advance, Klinkerone Keep your feet on the ground and your ankles right above them. Re: where to buy mandrels

Check Lamar Reel Seats on the sponsor list on the left. He was having computer problems a couple of days ago but should be up and running soon. He can answer any questions an he does sell some very fine mandrels. Stan Re: where to buy mandrels

If you don't have a lathe, consider buying the Grizzly Hobby Lathe to use with the mandrels. Perfect and inexpensive set-up for turning cork. I had never done it before and learned fast. I also use the mandrels from Andy at Lamar Reel Seat, usually the 1/4" size. Re: where to buy mandrels

Hi Will, I am still learning to walk upright (missing link here) but I have learned to turn my grips using Andy's mandrels. I have the full set which I use on the Grizzley hobby lathe. Cheers, Ellis Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
