Just wanted to thank Tom K. and Andy of Rodbuilder Supplies for mentioning the Gudebrod color preserver. Nice stuff! This product makes even black thread look good! I'm impressed! Now I can finally join the ranks of others with beautiful, high-color thread wraps. Thanks again! TH Re: I LOVE the Gudebrod color Preserver!

I agree...about 6 months ago I purchased some Flex Coat CP when I started to build my first rod. Unfortunately, the thread colors have never been bright. They remained almost the same as when they darkened. At the conclave several people recommended the Gudebrod 811 at what a difference it has made. Re: I LOVE the Gudebrod color Preserver!

I had problems with an OLD batch of flex coat CP. This stuff is great. I will never go back! TH Re: I LOVE the Gudebrod color Preserver!

Tony, Glad to hear you like the product. Any questions on the fly rod build just give me a call. Trout season must be just around the corner out east (all year here) so you better get moving. Andy Snedden Re: I LOVE the Gudebrod color Preserver!

Andy, I AM a little intimidated, actually. I want to study up a little more, so I can feel confident before I start. Here is a question: Do you put the spine of the rod on the front or back? My backcasts tend to be a little weak, so I was thinking about putting the spine on the bottom of the rod to help my backcasts. What do you think? TH Re: I LOVE the Gudebrod color Preserver!

Almost forgot... Trout season opens up on the 8th I believe. But since it goes on until June, I should be able to use my new Rainshadow this year. Just that thought is enough to make me want to get started! :-) TH Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
