2mm but they can be glued up to make them thicker. I have sandwhiched contrasting colors together and then put them between cork/wood in handles. Looks nice. I have always bought individual sheets at craft stores but this is the first time I have ever seen a pack of 40 different colors. They are really nice. Photo doesn't do them justice.

I'm curious as to what the cork sanding dust does to the color of any light colored foam rings. Does it dull them at all? Also how does it sand in relation to the cork? I can see a lot of potential here but haven't tried it myself. Just wondering how the foam works alongside the cork.

I haven't had any problems but haven't used any real light stuff yet. I use sandpaper on a block and it works fine. I think that a toothbrush and soap would clean it up OK

WC - do you mean you think the cork dust will "stain" teh lighter colored EVA? Good point, I have this problem when I do inlays with light and dark EVA - the dark EVA seems to "smear" on teh lighter EVA. IT is a pain to clean up, the first time because the fine dust particles seem to "stick". Soap, water, a rag & elbow grease does remove this smear, and I assume the same will hold true with cork. I don't know for sure though.

Yes that's what would concern me. Cork dust on yellow or white foam or the other way around, black or blue foam dust in the cork. Maybe not worth worrying about but the only time I did something like this I found that trying to clean the stain or dust with a solvent it just smeared it in deeper.

As I said, I've never done it with cork, but if you use a rag & water and some sort of mild soap, you should be able to remove the small particles. Elbow grease is a key ingrediant as well.

FWIW - I've been using a rod which has a predominately YEllow EVA grip with brown inlays, and I had this problem pretty bad. I even had a hard time removing the excess contact cement on teh inlay itself, but after a few minutes, the YEllow was very bright and had no signs of any other colors. I've taken this rod on 10 trips this month, and so far I've had crab gunk, fish slime, blood, general stains, and even a footprint on teh Yellow. Each time I was able to remove the "mess" with a toothbrush & soap. The dust from sanding is 10 times harder to remove than this other stuff.

Mike B - you gonna get a lot of use out of the Pink EVA sheets or what? lol.

Has anyone tried using an art gum eraser? The one I'm referring to is the one that's carmel color. I used it to clean black foam from cork, and it worked really well for me.

I've not had good results with any sort of solvent or even water. I've done best with a dry tooth brush or, tacking the sticky side of a piece of tape against the offending stain or coloration. Just some ideas you may want to try before wetting the grip with anything.

Went looking for plastic colored instead of the stuff you guys are using. Found plastic plates. may be better then the eva. Harder different colors Could find in the food market
