Finish Curing Time

Is it just me (probably), or has anyone else experienced different curing times based on the type of finish used? I use high-build and light-build Flexcoat almost exclusively. The high-build seems tocure faster than the light-build. Has anyone else noticed different curing times? I'm not looking for recommendation to switch to a different finish, and I'm sure I'm mixing real thoroughly. I spend at least 3 to 4 minutes mixing the main mix and scraping the sides in different directions. I live in Alaska, so I'm assuming the humidity affects the curing time during the winter months, but that doesn't necessarily explain the different curing times between Flexcoat high and light build formulas. Thanks in advance. Patrick Vernacchio

Humidity has no effect at all. But different finishes do require different curing times. Also temperature greatly affects cure time. I can't remember the exact formula but something like a 20 degree drop in temp doubles the cure time needed.

3 days at room temperature is usually sufficient for most epoxy finishes.

By Wednesday evening, the Flex Coat Light finish was as hard as a rock. Since I've only used the light finish on this rod only, so far, I wasn't aware it took longer to fully cure Vs the Flex Coat High Build. It looks just as good though. Both are good stuff.
