I assume my previous post was removed because my initials are my usual first name so I will try again. Please let me know if I have done something inappropriate via e-mail. I received the bottom 1/2 of a two piece blank that was replaced on warranty. My problem is it is not identical to the original. The replacement measures 15/32 at the point where the winding check will go while the original measures 14/32. Is this type of difference in diameter unusual? Re: Is this unusual?

Not really. Blanks can vary a bit in diameter and model specs sometimes change. As long as the ferrule overlap is correct (and it should be if the factory handled that end of things for you) you should be okay. Remember, rod blanks are not extruded - they're rolled and then sanded and finished. There are often marginal differences in diameter. ........... Re: Is this unusual?

Did you send the whole rod back when you asked for the replacement section.? The reason I ask this is at the factory they are able to match every thing correctly. Good wraps Bob Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
