Looking for a darker colored metallic gold

I have been using Gudebrod 9000 for most of my trim bands whenever I wanted a metallic gold, but it's not as dark as I would like.Once finish is on the wraps the gold seems a bit too bright and too much like silver for my tastes. It also doesn't quite go with the gold ringed ceramic guides I've been using as they are slightly darker as well.

I was wondering if the Ole Gold 9004 is noticably darker in coloration to the 9000?The Ole Gold is one of the few colors that I don't have so I haven't been able to compare them yet.

If the Ole Gold 9004 doesn't look noticably darker than the 9000,are there any others(Gudebrod or other brand) I should consider?

What is the Glitzy Gold 9009 like compared to the 9000?

Thanks.

Don't know about the other Gudebrod golds, but Sulky has at least three threads darker than the Gudebrod 9000 (and I agree with you that that one is rather pale). Sulky 142 7007 Gold is a bit darker, 142 7005 Brass more so, and 142 7004 Dark Gold the darkest. I like them all, as well as the other Sulky Metallic 142 7000s; almost all are richer in appearance than the Gudebrods. Available in many fabric stores, not expensive.

Maderia has a dark metallic gold but you have to use CP with it. Jesse

9004 is what you're looking for I think, I use it a lot in wraps and weaves cause its a darker gold than the 9000. It contrasts nicely with silver

I think that I used 9000 once before going to 9004. 9004 matches gold hoods, and various other gold rod componetry quite well, while 9000 is like a strange variation of silver. I too think that 9004 will suit your purposes.

Rice 9000 is also darker than the Gudebrod golds.
