I am working on a 7'6" telescoping rod and want to put a 21" grip on it. I only have 2 1/2" left for a butt wrap. Can I extend the length of the rod by inserting a cut blank piece in the butt section and epoxing it. Will this cause any problems? I want to add 3" to the length. Thanks Steve Re: Lengthing Butt Section

Steve, Any method I know of, will impede the tip section from sliding down into the butt section. You would have to put a section of rod inside the butt section, for strength. Unless you used a sleeve on the outside? I really wouldn't recommend lengthening a telescopic rod blank. Bill Doherty Re: Lengthing Butt Section

You need to sleeve the outside. It's stronger and won't impede the telescoping action of the rod. Make the sleeve so that the rear grip and seat reside on it. This will give you the strongest set up. The foregrip can go just in front of it and on the original butt section. Re: Lengthing Butt Section

The piece you add should overlap the butt by at least 4", so you need a 7" piece of blank. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
