Chuck,

Struble, specializes in fine fly rod reel seats. The wood inserts you reffer to are the spacers between the mounting caps, for the reel. Wood inserts are used in alot of rod seats, not just fly rods, and Struble is not the only company who makes them. You can make your own wood insert, on a lathe. Inserts can be made of many types of different woods and add beauty to a well built rod. They are made of other materials as well, not just wood. Go to the left and click on some of the sponsors. Most of them sell Struble reel seats, as well as many other brands that use wood inserts. You should be able to find a picture.
