Fly rod blanks for spinning

I'd like to build a 9' spinning salmon rod, but it needs to be travel-friendly and I can't find any 3- or 4-piece spinning/casting blanks. But I CAN find multi-piece fly blanks, including some in the heavier line sizes. What do you experts think about building a 12-20# spinning rod for salmon on a 10- or 12-weight travel fly blank? Any recommendations on specific blanks?

Thanks for the recommendations. You think the 10-weight will be stout enough then? (I don't know much about fly-fishing, so my only point of comparison was the butt & tip diameters, plus the total weight of the blank . . . from this it seemed 10-weight fly rods might be a little 'light' ).

Then what do you suggest maybe a 8 wt. or 9wt. blank for a 8-12 lbs.
