I am about to build a 9' , 2 pc. 4 wt. GLX. Got a good deal on the blank.

For the guide set up I am planing to outfit with Fuji Ti/SiC Concept guides: 1 ea. #12 double foot stripper, 1 ea. #10 single foot (SF), 1 ea. #8 SF, 1-2 ea. #7 SF, and finish out with 5-6 ea. #6 SF guides plus the tip top. I may experiment with the extra guide 4 in. from the stripper, but not sure it makes much difference on a 4 wt. rod.

Am I on track?

Thanks .. Wayne

Probably, but again, only your blank and own tests can tell you for sure. Overall, I'd say you've mentioned a pretty safe set-up.

For the sake of testing, try this set-up out as well:
spinning type #12, spinning type #10, low frame fly type 8, then 6's all the way out to the tip top.

You could then try the additional stripper on that set-up as well.
